The
UNITED STATES SUBMARINER
MEMORIAL BUILDINGS and STRUCTURES PROJECT
aka "The Names Project"
Things that are named for US Submariners
Intent: To preserve the memories of Submariners in keeping with the USSVI CREED
USSVI CREED

To perpetuate the memory of our shipmates who gave their lives in the pursuit of their duties while serving their country. That their dedication, deeds and supreme sacrifice be a constant source of motivation toward greater accomplishments. Pledge loyalty and patriotism to the United States Government."
Background:
In the brief history of the internet a great deal of information has been located and organized pertaining to the US Navy Submarine Force. This information is now found in the form of individual boat web pages, collections of links, sea-stories and sites that present submarine memorial location information. Unfortunately there is no known comprehensive assemblage of biographical information on the Submariners whose names are on many of our buildings***.
Goals
1. To identify/locate all buildings that have been dedicated to Submariners.
2. To collect, organize and make available on the internet all biographical, information about each submariner who has been so honored with a dedicated building.***

*** Buildings as used can denote ANY structure including a highway, bridge,
park, lake, recreation field etc. that is named for a U.S. Submariner
