Return to Lone Sailor/SF-Page One

The following images were contributed by Tim Spoon/Submariner - May 2002

Tim says:
The Lone Sailor wears a BM2 crow and when I stood next to him I could actually feel the Spirit of the Navy. I sailed under the Golden Gate aboard the RONQUIL in 1967. My father sailed under the Golden Gate in 1937 then again in 1944 on his way to the Pacific Theater.

I served 6 years and got out as an EM2(SS).
I qualified aboard the USS BALAO AGSS-285 in 1962 and served in TIRANTE SS-420 (both Key West boats) and RONQUIL SS-396 out of San Diego.
