The
USS BLENNY SS-324 ship's bell
and how it came to be at Ballast Point
in San Diego CA.
Posting date: August 2002

It seems the bell was removed from the
boat during the Guppy conversion by Butch Hahn, the COB at the time, and
was stored up in the attic of his garage. After COB Hahn died, his
wife contacted "Slip" Haislip and asked if he could make use of it.
It is now at Ballast Point.
When the memorial at Ballast Point
was built the bell was mounted to the wall
and can be seen in the distance above
the torpedo in the foreground.
